[Milliways: Suite 132]
The hot tub in Suite 132 is a truly remarkable feat of plumbing. Easily big enough to accommodate half a dozen people easily, it boasts at least forty subtly different settings, depending on the position of a variety of dials on the side. 'At least' because Mel hasn't quite finished the systematic investigation of quite what it's capable of.
She also hasn't quite worked up the courage to try the big red knob yet.

He's not even looking at Mel anymore. He only has eyes for the big red knob.
This is not news.

Mel pushes herself to the other side of the tub, putting Mike between her and the knob.

...
Which ones are adjectives again?"

Slowly, his head turns, and he looks at her, a bright smile plastered on his face. It's a shame he can't call up a halo at will.

"I'm not falling for that, you know."

Mel looks at him for a couple of seconds and relents.
"You had to break out that look, didn't you?"
no subject
He moves towards her, intent on pulling her towards the RED KNOB OF DOOM.

Consider Mel grappled.
"Peer pressure is fun pressure."
no subject
But she's no match for his manly grappling skills.

Closer to the knob....ever closer.

Mel makes a squeaky noise of protest, and splashes at him.
"That's not fair. You know I can't say no to that."
no subject
He takes her splashing hand in his.
"On the count of three?"

Ooooone.
Twooooooo.
Three."
The knob is turned.

A light next to the knob comes on.
no subject
"Huh. That was anticlimatic, wasn't it? I mean, it seems a bit much for a simple light switch."
The light begins to blink.
The rumbling that follows is barely audible, and the waves it creates no more than ripples.
no subject
The light begins to flash slowly.
no subject
A column begins to rise from the bottom of the hot tub.
The flashing light goes solid again, and for a moment all is calm.
"Huh, kind of like Clash of the Titans."
That's when the horn blows.

One hand is clutching Mike's. The other is grasping water uselessly.
Her scythe is at the other side of the tub.
The column of water begins to spin, picking up speed rapidly.

Mike turns the knob a few more times, trying to get the giant spinning piller of water to go away.
It doesn't work.
Instead the giant spinning piller of water only speeds up, causing the rest of the pool to whirl. There's a nice undertow beginning to form.
no subject
"Think we should get out?" she asks, watching as the rubber ducky gets caught in the undertow
no subject
Mike says a silent prayer for Senior Squeakins, the benevolent dictator of the people, disappears beneath the choppy suface of the water.

He loses what little footing he had in the wake of the current.
"Crap..."
no subject
"Mikey.." Mel grabs his hand with hers, but her grip on the tap slips just as she does so.
"Uh..." the reminder of the worried phrase is choked off my a mouthful of water.

Something he's never felt before snaps on in his brain, and Mike is suddenly very much afraid of drowning. His knuckles whiten as his grip on Mel's hand increases.
Then he opens his mouth to call out to her, and finds himself with a lung full of water for his troubles.

Clinging to his hand and wraps both arms around him. She has time to take a deep breath before she's pulled under with him.
Calmly, not even thinking to panic, she wraps her ankles around his to straighten their legs and make the descent easier, and places her mouth over his to give him some of the air.
This has to wash out somewhere, right?
